Australia Day!
General
Happy Australia Day Everyone!
We celebrated it here, not with a day off and a BBQ, but with baking some ANZAC biscuits and distributing them at work. Nikkie and I experimented with the recipe and came up with something vaguely resembling the real thing. They were very yummy.
Work is full on, as always. I passed my Microsoft Exam 70-281 - Planning, Deploying, and Managing an Enterprise Project Management Solution on Tuesday. So now I am a Microsoft Certified Professional. Yay me! I have been doing the stuff for six months now so the exam wasn’t too difficult, but it was good to finally get it out of the way.
Work is getting increasingly diverse, I’m doing less technical stuff which I’m missing, but everything else I am doing is new and exciting.
I will write more soon, but for now I just wanted to say Hi! I’m still alive, and I miss home.

Strategy
Work
Last year I didn't think I could possibly work harder that I was.
I had a project, a specific set of deliverables. I had a deadline and I worked my ass off to meet it. I succeeded and we rolled out a fantastic system.
I was rewarded for it. Given praise, a promotion and a raise.
Now in the New Year the organisation has been restructured and I’ve been given another promotion. We are changing strategy, developing upon our core competencies and striving towards new business ventures. My role is central to that strategy, and I am working like I’ve never worked before to help achieve it.
It’s a very exciting time, and I’m so lucky to be a part of it.
